If you have ever wanted to learn how to make a box cushion cover for a chair or bench seat then this might be the workshop for you. We take you through the whole process from taking measurements, making a cutting plan, how to create and fit a zip panel and borders and how to make fabric piping.
Making a box cushion cover requires a certain amount of confidence with using a sewing machine so if you are a complete beginner to sewing then this course may not be for you. We introduce you to techniques and precision work which will give you perfect results every time. If you are working on mid century style chairs such as Ercol, Parker Knoll, Centique or similar, you will need to perfect your box cushion making skills!
Also, if you are looking for fabric, our Bath Street shop sells a small selection of remnants and end of rolls, or we can order fabric from our range of UK fabric suppliers such as Linwood, Warwick, Prestigious Textiles, Romo, Blendworth, Morris & Co, Ian Mankin, Mulberry and GP&J Baker etc.
We can also supply foam or hollow fibre inners for your cushions but you would need to pre order in advance of the workshop and allow at least 3 weeks for delivery.
The classes take place at our commercial workshop at Barrows House, Tweentown, Cheddar BS27 3HU. The workshop entrance is at the side of the building next door to A-M Hairstylist.
Dates: Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th November, 2022
Tutor: Jillian Humphrey, AMUSF
